If you opt in, your data helps research. If you do not, nothing changes.
There is no research program running today and nothing you log is used for research. This page is the commitment we will hold ourselves to when one opens: opt-in only, anonymised at the row level, never sold, cohort statistics only.
Status
Not live. No opt-in exists in the app yet, no research database exists, and no report has been published. When the program opens we will ask you first, and the default will be off. Questions: [email protected].
Body scans, recovery scores, and meal logs — stripped of identifiers.
The research pipeline will ingest the body scan output (seven metrics, no photo), the daily recovery score, the daily meal log (macros and micronutrients, no photos), and the BASDAI and BASMI scores if you have AS. It will run nightly, on a separate database, with all direct identifiers removed at the row level: your user_id is replaced with a random hash, your email is never written to the research database, and the join keys are rotated quarterly.
The pipeline will be opt-in. The default for every account will be off. You can change the setting at any time from settings, and any data that was already ingested is purged within 30 days. We retain the right to keep aggregate counts (e.g. "this user contributed 142 days of recovery data") for audit, but not the underlying rows.
Sell, share, or identify. Ever.
We do not sell your data to advertisers, insurers, employers, or data brokers. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing. We do not derive individual-level inferences from your data outside the app. The research database is not exposed to any product feature, and no engineer outside the research team has read access to individual rows.
We will turn down any acquisition offer that includes access to user data.
Cohort statistics, never individual records.
The output of the program will be a periodic cohort report, published on this site. The reports would include summary statistics on the relationship between HRV and self-reported flares in people with AS, the population distribution of body composition changes across repeated scans, and the macro adherence rates of users who hit a 90% protein-target streak.
The smallest cohort we will report on is 50 users. We do not publish anything that could identify an individual, including the names of clinicians, gyms, or employers. A methodology document describing every join, every filter, and every statistic in plain English will be published here before the first report.
